Visual Design Composition
The Visual Design Composition must reflect the site, brand image, accommodate the user needs, and wireframes. You will need to create a visual design composition for the home page and one secondary page. You need to create two distinct designs with different layouts and color schemes. Include indications of navigation selection, i.e. menu treatments.
Concept Note
The concept note should support the reasoning behind the decisions made for your visual design and relate those design rational to your requirements and information architecture activities. Explain your design decisions including layout, design style, use of image, font, color, mark, embellishments and proposed use of technology. Identify pros and cons of the design treatment relative to your client's needs. Write a concept note for each design treatment and include it in the presentation.
Presentation
The final presentation should be created as though you are presenting your entire design process and design treatments to an executive level client. It should include the following sections:
- a) Research & Analysis (competitive analysis, personas, scenarios)
- b) Requirements & Business Needs (requirements)
- c) Information Architecture (site map, task flows, wireframes)
- d) Visual Design Treatments (design treatments)
- e) Concept Notes
The presentation can be created as a Flash, Keynote, or PowerPoint. The slides should be succinct and to the point providing relevant information for the client to make a decision regarding your Information Architecture approach. You will be graded on the following criteria for your presentation:
- Clarity, Succinctness
- Slide design
- Include key points
- Presentation style
